You’ve just landed the job to design and optimize the perfect retro arcade floor. The cabinets are delivered, the customers are waiting, and the neon lights are buzzing... but there is a major catch.

The layout makes absolutely no sense, power management is a tactical challenge, and safety inspectors are breathing down your neck. It’s up to you to place every single machine perfectly, manage the grid, and power up the fun!

📋 The Shift Protocol

The gameplay is split into a simple two-phase loop:

• The Planning Phase: Look at your empty grid floor from a bird's-eye view. Check your inventory for available arcade cabinets and neon lights. Strategically place your limited supply of machines onto the grid, ensuring they face the right direction and fit the physical space.
• The Testing Phase: Ready to launch? Hit the Open Arcade button to simulate a live day! Watch the power flow from the nodes and see if your setup functions perfectly. Did a machine lose power? Is a cabinet blocked? No problem! Just jump back into the Planning Phase, re-arrange your layout, and try again.

🛠️ Why You’ll Love Arcadium

• Master the Power Grid: Every arcade cabinet requires a specific amount of Wattage to run. You must position your heavy hitters carefully within the radius of your limited Power Nodes. Overload a node, and the power drops to 0W!
• Satisfy Unique Machine Quirks: Not all machines are created equal. Take the Oude Arcade cabinets (like the ones in Raf's Retro Room): these classics value their peace and quiet. If you place them directly next to other machines, you'll lose your perfect score! You'll need to figure out the ideal placement puzzle for every unique piece of hardware.
• Safety First (Avoid the Fines): An arcade is no fun if it’s a hazard! Safety protocols dictate that no machines can block the emergency exits. Keep your walkways clear and don't place heavy machines in the designated Emergency Zones, or your grand opening will be shut down.
• Earn Your 5-Star Review: Once you open the doors, the game automatically validates your entire layout. It calculates your power efficiency, accessibility, and special machine rules. Can you optimize the floor well enough to score a perfect 5-star rating?
